The Israeli army shot and wounded three Palestinians on Tuesday during clashes in the occupied West Bank.

"Three young men were shot with live fire by the occupation forces in the feet in the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron,'' local activist Mohammed Ayad Awad told Anadolu.

He said the injuries were the result of clashes in the town, with two of the men treated at a local clinic while the third was transferred to Hebron Hospital.

The Israeli army stormed the town, leading to clashes and used live fire, rubber bullets and tear gas grenades, according to Awad.

In the northern West Bank, clashes broke out between Palestinians and the Israeli army in the towns of Kafr al-Labad and Anabta, east of the city of Tulkarm, Palestine's official news agency WAFA reported.

The agency also noted that the Israeli army stormed Tulkarm earlier on Tuesday, conducting inspection operations amid heavy surveillance by low-flying reconnaissance aircraft.

Tensions have been high across the occupied West Bank since Israel launched a deadly military offensive against the Gaza Strip which has killed nearly 34,200 people following an attack by the Palestinian group Hamas on Oct. 7 last year.

At least 487 Palestinians have since been killed and over 4,800 others injured by Israeli army fire in the occupied West Bank.

Israel stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, which in an interim ruling in January ordered Tel Aviv to stop genocidal acts and take measures to guarantee that humanitarian assistance is provided to civilians in Gaza.
