Turkey's benchmark stock index closed Tuesday at 1,528.82 points, up slightly 0.09% day-on-day.

After starting the day at 1,526.36 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 1.37 points over Monday's close of 1,527.45 points.

During the day, the index hovered between 1,518.51 and 1,537.46 points – 33 stocks on the index rose, 62 fell, and five were flat compared to Monday's close.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 1.2 trillion Turkish liras ($168.5 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 39.95 billion Turkish liras ($4.77 billion).

Stocks of venture capital firm Gozde climbed the most, up 9.91%, while shares of gold miner Koza dropped the most, 5.63%.

The highest trading volumes were posted by national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, polyester producer Sasa, and chemical giant Petkim.

The price of one ounce of gold was $1,735 by market close, down from $1,742.65 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $63.80 per barrel as of 6.15 p.m. local time (1515GMT) on Tuesday.
