At Monday’s close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 0.51% to 1,394.37 points, with a daily trading volume of 12.24 billion Turkish liras ($1.38 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 8.8650 as of 9:30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) from 8.8570 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 10.2730 versus 10.3050, while one British pound traded for 12.0430 Turkish liras, down from 12.0640.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $78.83 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
