This Australian shopper was not expecting a "magnetic" discovery to spoil his appetite when he attempted to thaw some chicken breasts he had purchased from supermarket giant Woolworths.
Sharing his baffling experience on Facebook, Chris Sedgy demanded an explanation from Woolies as to why a black magnet was stuck to the outside of the sealed chicken breast package.
"Any explanation for your magnetic chicken?" Sedgy asked in his now-deleted post.
A massive black magnetic object can be seen firmly stuck to the packet of chicken fillet breast, prompting readers to question why Sedgy didn’t notice it when he first made the purchase.
“I've since defrosted it, and it (magnet) is still stuck to it, and also had the same result with two other packets I had in the freezer,” he said.
The supermarket in question told Mail Online that they have never received any similar reports and defended their chicken suppliers, highlighting their “rigorous food safety standards.”
