Famous American vocalist Della Miles, who did backup singing for the likes of Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston, has started a campaign in her efforts to support Turkey and the lira.
Miles announced that she would charge all her concerts in Turkish liras instead of U.S. dollars and called on her fellow artists to do the same.
“We should put a determined stance forward to give the Turkish lira, one of Turkey’s most important values, the respect and value it deserves,” she said.
Miles converted to Islam in March in Turkey’s Istanbul after the New Zealand mosque massacre that killed 50 people.
