International Bosphorus Film Festival to begin on Oct. 23

The ninth Bosphorus Film Festival in the Turkish metropolitan city of Istanbul will be held on Oct. 23-30, organizers said.

The Bosphorus Culture and Arts Foundation announced the jury members for the event which is organized with the support of the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry as well as Turkey's national broadcaster TRT. Anadolu Agency is the global communication partner for the festival.

Among the jury members is Anne Delseth who has been a member of the Cannes’ Directors’ Fortnight selection committee since 2012. She also joined the selection team of the Locarno Festival for the 2018 edition. Delseth has also served as a consultant for the Neuchatel Fantastic Film Festival and the Zurich Film Festival.

Kamyar Mohsenin from Iran is another Jury member. Mohsenin was involved in the organization of international film events such as Fajr, Iranian Film Market, Children and Young Adults, Kish, and Urban. Mohsenin has served as a jury member in different film festivals, including Shanghai International Film Festival.

Among other jury members are Svetla Tsotsorkova, whose first feature film Thirst had its world premiere at San Sebastian Film Festival New Directors Competition in 2015; and Yoshi Yatabe, who joined the Tokyo International Film Festival in 2002 and 2007.

The Bosphorus international festival will award films in several categories. The grand prize of the festival is 50,000 Turkish Lira (over $ 5,600).

On Thursday, the festival announced this year’s poster designed by Ege Oztayfun.
