A 52-year-old American woman died after allegedly being strangled and thrown from the railings of a luxury cruise ship, the Princess Royal, by her partner, with whom she was arguing in the ship’s casino, according to witnesses who talked to MailOnline.
The woman then landed in a lifeboat after being tossed off the 16th deck of the ship, where her leg was torn off.
A witness said they saw blood and glass on the lifeboat.
The ship was on an eight-day Caribbean cruise that departed from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Nov. 9, and will return there Saturday.
The man believed to be her partner and described as a “muscular American man” was ordered off the ship in Aruba and taken into custody by local authorities, who have conducted an autopsy to determine the woman’s cause of death and are treating her demise as a murder.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the woman’s identity or cause of death.
