Over 2.7B coronavirus vaccine shots administered worldwide

Turkey ranks 9th with more than 43.18M jabs given across country

Over 2.7 billion doses of coronavirus vaccines have been given worldwide so far, figures compiled by Our World in Data, a tracking website, showed on Tuesday.

China leads the global count with more than 1.05 billion jabs, followed by the US with 318.58 million.

India has administered 283.31 million shots, Brazil 88.35 million, the UK 74.58 million, Germany 67.12 million, France 48.39 million, and Italy 46.6 million.

Turkey ranks ninth on the list with over 43.18 million doses given, followed by Mexico, Spain and Indonesia.

The country with the most doses administered by population is the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with 146.73 doses per 100 people.

Following the UAE, countries with the most doses administered per 100 people are Malta with 142.4 doses, Seychelles 140, San Marino 129.84, Israel 123.06, Bahrain 114.94, Chile 111.87, Mongolia 110.66, the UK 109.86, Iceland 104.08, Uruguay 102.82, and Qatar 100.62.

Since December 2019, the pandemic has claimed over 3.87 million lives in 192 countries and regions, with more than 178.84 million cases reported worldwide, according to the US-based Johns Hopkins University.

The US, India and Brazil remain the worst-hit countries.
