Two junkmen collecting the scrap and waste thrown by passers-by got the shock of their life when they found a suitcase on the edge of the road in northern Turkey.
Upon opening the suitcase, they discovered a decapitated and decomposing body and immediately notified the police.
Preliminary reports indicated that the body belonged to a female whose head was cut off with a sharp object and was killed three months prior to the discovery in Düzce province.
Police have launched a full investigation into the gruesome event and have sent the body to Istanbul’s Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy.
