The Turkish foreign minister on Thursday reiterated his country’s support for the stability and prosperity of Libya.

Following talks with his Libyan counterpart in the Turkish capital Ankara, Mevlut Cavusoglu tweeted: “Discussed our bilateral relations and the issues on our agenda with our first guest today, Foreign Minister Najla Mangoush of #Libya.”

“We will continue to contribute to the stability and prosperity of Libya,” the Turkish top diplomat pledged.

On the upcoming elections in Libya, Cavusoglu said the elections should be free, fair and credible.

According to a roadmap sponsored by the UN, the parliamentary and presidential elections in Libya are scheduled to be held on Dec. 24 simultaneously.

The election laws in Libya are different for the House of Representatives, High Council of State, Government of National Unity, and the Presidential Council.
