Mercedes team's British driver Lewis Hamilton claimed the victory in Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix -- the last race of 2018 -- held in United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday.

Mercedes has clinched the victory in both driver and constructor standings.

The competition was held in 5.5 kilometer (3.4 miles) long Yas Marina Circuit in the Emirati capital by 55 laps as Hamilton won the campaign.

Hamilton, who started the competition in the pole position, dominated the race to his 11th win of the season.

With the Sunday's victory in Abu Dhabi, Hamilton took his 73rd win in his career.

Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel was runner-up and Red Bull-TAG Heuer's Max Verstappen came third.

Meanwhile McLaren-Renault's Spanish driver Fernando Alonso ended his career as he finished the race in UAE in the 11th spot.

Alonso won the Formula 1 titles in 2005 and 2006.
