Mohamed Salah's penalty kick spoiled Steven Gerrard's Anfield return Saturday with a 1-0 Liverpool win against Aston Villa.

The Egyptian star’s penalty in the 67th minute gave Liverpool the home victory at Anfield Stadium.

With 11 wins, four draws and one defeat, second-place Liverpool increased their points to 37 in the English Premier

A Liverpool legend, Gerrard, helped the team claim the 2001 UEFA Cup and the 2005 UEFA Champions League League standings.

Gerard has been managing Aston Villa since Nov. 11.

Premier League leaders Manchester City recorded their sixth consecutive league victory by beating Wolverhampton with the only goal coming from Raheem Sterling.

Chelsea claimed a 3-2 win against Leeds United with a stoppage-time goal from Jorginho at Stamford Bridge.

Manchester City are at the top of the standings with 38 points, second-place Chelsea have 36 points.
