Turkey will participate in the 2020 Summer Paralympics with six taekwondo athletes, a top official said Tuesday.

With this Turkey has become the only nation to compete in the games with the maximum quota of athletes, said Turkey Taekwondo Federation Chairman Metin Sahin.

"We have been supporting Paralympic athletes for over 10 years. Now our aim is to do the best for Turkey. I believe that our athletes will grab medals in Tokyo," Sahin said in a statement.

Turkey will be represented with Meryem Betul Cavdar in K44 49 kilograms, Gamze Gurdal in K44 58 kg and Seyma Nur Emeksiz Bacaksiz in K43 58 kg in women.

Mahmut Bozteke will compete in the men's category in K44 61 kg along with Fatih Celik in K44 75 kg and Mehmet Vasıf Yakut in K43 75 kg.
