While COVID-19 cases are on the rise nationally, the NBA reported good news Wednesday regarding its status amid the pandemic.

The league and the National Basketball Players Association announced that no positive results emerged from the 495 players tested for COVID-19 since Dec. 24.

Since the 2020-21 season tipped off on Dec. 22, the NBA has postponed just one game, between the Houston Rockets and the Oklahoma City Thunder on Dec. 23. The Rockets fell below the league-mandated minimum of eight available players due to positive COVID-19 cases for Ben McLemore and Kenyon Martin Jr. plus contact tracing that sidelined multiple others.

The Rockets, still short-handed, returned to action on Saturday.

NBA games are being held in empty arenas or with limited numbers of fans in the stands.
