The YouTube channel of South Korea's Yonhap News Agency has crossed 100,000 subscribers, company said in a statement Monday.

Yonhap launched last October South Korea’s first English YouTube channel "Korea Now" which reached the milestone early this morning.

"Korea Now aims to offer a fresh look into geopolitical issues on the Korean Peninsula and South Korean popular culture, entertainment and lifestyle," the company said.

The agency also launched a new website at www.koreanow.com, making all "Korea Now" YouTube content accessible to non-subscribers on both computers and smart devices.

Turkey's Anadolu Agency and Yonhap News Agency are partner agencies sharing news stories and other news media content.

"Our aim for this channel is to offer a platform of communication, where anyone interested in Korea could come together, enjoy, and share information on Korea," Korea Now Editor-in-Chief Shin Ji-hong said.
