A Facebook report on Wednesday revealed top sources of disinformation, with Russia leading the list, followed by Iran, Myanmar, the US and Ukraine.

In the report on "the State of Influence Operations," the social media giant said it removed more than 150 networks for violating its policy against Coordinated Inauthentic Behavior (CIB) between 2017-2020.

Russia accounted for 27, Iran had 23, Myanmar and the US each had nine and Ukraine for eight.

"Influence operations are not new, but over the past several years they have burst into global public consciousness," said the report.

Among the countries most frequently targeted by influence operations, the US tops the list with 26 foreign networks, followed by Ukraine with 11.

Myanmar ranked first among nations that were targeted by domestic influence operations with nine networks, followed by the US with eight, according to the report.
