A team composed of Turkish engineers has developed a cutting-edge mobile forensics vehicle designed to reduce the time spent on tests and help catch perpetrators before they attempt to flee justice.

"Kıraç", the new generation criminal investigation vehicle produced by Katmerciler, is equipped with high-resolution telescopic cameras that provide a 360-degree view of locations associated with crime scenes.

The rooftop cameras cover any blind spots for security units when teams head to the scene, while a drone operator scans the crime-linked areas in a short span of time.

"This vehicle was designed with an aim to provide efficient crime scene investigations as a mobile crime scene processing unit. It has been developed to catch perpetrators with scientific methods before they attempt to flee, "Aras Kök, Deputy Commissioner at the Criminal Department Crime Scene Investigation team, told
.

The first Kıraç vehicle was opened for business by Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu on Wednesday for the use of the General Directorate of Security.

Integrated with a satellite communication system, the vehicle can reach a maximum speed of 110 kilometers per hour.

It also comes with a fingerprint analysis laboratory that accelerates crime-solving efforts, on-site inspections and examinations. The technical features of the vehicle can also help identify those who lost their lives in natural disasters.

So far, the Turkish manufacturer has developed a total of 60 units, 20 of which are armored.
