Regions occupied by PYD terrorists to the east of the Euphrates River will follow suit after the cities and towns in northwest Syria were cleared from terrorism, said Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım on Thursday.

Speaking during a campaign rally, Yıldırım stressed that Turkey has completed its operations west of the Euphrates, and that bordering regions to the east are next.

“Now that west of the Euphrates is complete, what’s to come for the east? The east of the Euphrates will follow suit. There’s no other way. We can never coexist with terror. We won’t allow this. It makes no difference whether America or another is behind them. When it comes to the homeland, the rest is just details.”

The PYD is the Syrian branch of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), which has waged war against Turkey for more than 30 years and is listed as a terror organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU.
