A Turkish shepherd who had been kidnapped by PKK terrorists was found dead on Sunday in eastern Turkey.

A shepherd in Yankipinar village of Kars province, Suleyman Guldere, 53, was kidnapped by PKK terrorists a while ago while herding his cattle.

Guldere's body was found dead from a gunshot wound in a tent in nearby Cemce neighborhood, which is considered a critical area in terms of terror incidents.

Security forces launched an operation to nab the terrorists.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including many women and children.
